Fairgrounds closed to horses, camelids through May 31
Boulder County, Colo. – As a cautionary measure due to the recent outbreak of the Equine Herpesvirus, the Boulder County Fairgrounds is closed to all equine and camelid (llama and alpaca) events and open rides through Tuesday, May 31.
The riding arena and stalls are closed to the public and no horses or camelids are allowed on the fairgrounds property. Overnight stalling in the barns is prohibited.
The temporary closure is a safeguard to protect the facilities, horses and camelids. The scheduled reopening will be dependent on the course of the current outbreak.
More information about Equine Herpesvirus, or EHV-1, is available on the Colorado Department of Agriculture website.
