4:23 update Snow plows stuck in traffic because everyone decided to go home and jammed roads. TWITTER REPORTS THAT THE SNOW PLOWS ARE NOT OUT ARE UNTRUE. The city snow desk tells Boulder Channel 1 news that the entire fleet is out. Including 16 large dump trucks with plows and chemicals, 3 bike path trucks and one trackless vehicle. The trucks hit the streets of boulder at 3:00 pm and were immediately hemmed in by people in one big hurry to get home. Now all traffic is at a stand still.

3:30 January 19 2011 Boulder on Accident alert. ACCIDENT ALERT MEANS THAT BOULDER POLICE DEPARTMENT DISPATCH IS ALREADY INUNDATED WITH more calls than the department can handle. So minor accidents with out injuries will not get a police or fire response. Those involved should exchange insurance information, call a tow truck themselves and deal with it. Police and fire will respond to serious accidents only” or where there is a dispute, drugs, alcohol, hit and run, dissabled vehicles or intersection blocked” according to Sargent Jim MacPherson Boulder PD Traffic. This means , however, that Boulder is getting smacked pretty good by this storm , the roads are slippery and people are driving into one another according to Boulder PD dispatch.

Dispatch tells BC ONE NEWS that there “are wrecks all over the city.
