Youth pastor arrested for alleged 7-year-long inappropriate relationship that started when the alleged victim was 15


A youth pastor at VineLife Church in Longmont, CO is facing charges after a Boulder police investigation revealed that the pastor was allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage church member. VineLife Church is located at 7845 Lookout Rd. in Longmont.

Jason Allen Roberson (DOB 12/25/1977) turned himself in at the Boulder County Jail on Sept. 4, 2013 after police issued a warrant for his arrest. Roberson faces charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and invasion of privacy. Roberson was a close friend of the victim’s family.



The victim is a 23-year-old Boulder resident who told investigators that she and Roberson had an inappropriate relationship that began when she was 15 years old and which continued for seven years. She says she trusted him as an authority figure and spiritual guide, and felt uncomfortable disclosing the relationship to others.

The victim said during their relationship, Roberson touched her inappropriately and watched her undress by spying on her outside of her home in Boulder. Roberson allegedly admitted to this behavior when confronted by the victim and family friends.

The case number is 13-5204.
