Boulder police release new information on fatal hit-and-run accident

The accident happened in the northbound merge lane of Broadway, just north of Baseline, at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
The Boulder County Coroner has identified the victim as Ronald L. Keithline (date of birth 01/31/1957). Keithline has had a number of interactions with Boulder police and has been known to lie in roadways in the past.
Witnesses who witnessed the collision say that, just prior to the accident, a red SUV stopped suddenly and swerved onto the sidewalk to go around something in the road. About 30 seconds later, they say they saw a dark-colored SUV hit Keithline. According to these witnesses, the SUV stopped for a moment, and then fled the scene.
Police are looking for a dark-colored Toyota Rav4 or Nissan Xterra-type vehicle.

A woman driving a gray Saab struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Pine Street and Broadway around 3:15. The bicyclist was thrown from her bike and transported to the hospital for treatment. She suffered from abrasions to her right hip and right elbow. The driver admitted fault and said she had trouble seeing because of the western sun. The driver was issued a summons.
Police responded to the Bright Now dental practice at 1840 Folsom after used x-ray development solution was reported spilled. The office building was evacuated (about 35 people) as a precaution, and no one was injured. There was a sewage back-up in the building at the same time, unrelated to the x-ray solution spill.
A 22-year-old male was arrested in the 700 block of Arapahoe after his girlfriend alleged that he grabbed her by the throat after an argument. The victim reported to police that the suspect also locked her out of the residence when she tried to gather her belongings. The case is closed. 11-2474.
Boulder Police arrest bookkeeper on charges of forgery and felony theft

In December 2010, Boulder detectives started an investigation into the embezzlement of funds from Impact on Education, a non-profit organization. During the investigation, detectives learned that the bookkeeper for the organization had stolen approximately $160,000 while working for the organization over the course of several years.
An affidavit was presented to the courts on Jan. 20, 2011, for the arrest of Diana Lynn Lewis, date of birth May 3, 1966, on charges of theft over $20,000, which is a class 3 felony, and several counts of forgery, a Class 5 felony. Bail was set at $100,000.
Yesterday, Lewis was arrested and transported to the Boulder County Jail.
The Boulder Police Department will not be releasing any additional information about this case, as the investigation is continuing.
