0Tour of Egg Farm to kick off public comment period
Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Parks and Open Space is hosting a public tour of the Mountain View Egg Farm this Friday, May 14.
The tour will kick off the public comment period, May 14-June 11, for the Mountain View Egg Farm master plan. Staff will highlight specific issues on the property and discuss management ideas including public access, grassland restoration, agricultural uses, and site integration with adjacent public open space.

The Mountain View Egg Farm master plan is being developed by Boulder County and the City of Lafayette along with local partners and stakeholders. The plan is a proposed amendment to the existing Two Creeks Open Space plan, a property adjacent to the Mountain View Egg Farm.
The Egg Farm was purchased jointly by Lafayette and Boulder County in September 2009 and will allow for the egg farm trail to be incorporated into the Coal Creek Trail, providing a link from Flagg Park east of Lafayette into the town of Erie.

Boulder County seeks comments on draft Zero Waste Plan
Boulder County, Colo. – The Boulder County Resource Conservation Advisory Board has produced a set of recommendations to help Boulder County residents and businesses recycle more materials, compost more organics and reduce local demand for hazardous products.
The recommendations will be presented as part of a draft Zero Waste Plan at meetings in Longmont (May 25) and Boulder (May 26). When finalized, the plan will help the Board of County Commissioners decide the most effective and cost-effective next steps to boost waste diversion for the entire county.
Anyone who lives or works in Boulder County is invited to provide feedback on the recommendations. Comments are due by June 11, 2010 and will be accepted:
