The Tavern Hospitality Group

0

The Tavern Hospitality Group is a Denver-based family-owned operation, comprised of Tavern Uptown, Tavern Downtown, Tavern Lowry, Tavern Tech Center, Tavern Wash Park, Tavern Littleton, Cowboy Lounge, and The Soiled Dove Underground. The company was the brainchild of Frank Schultz and his mother and step-father Terry and Al Papay. Their first venture was The Soiled Dove in 1997, forged from an historic LoDo warehouse on the corner of 20th and Market. Originally opened as a dueling piano bar, the Dove featured bands on an occasional basis. Soon, this concept became more popular than the pianos so the location was transformed into a live music format in 2000. The venue’s reputation in the music industry flourished.

The company’s growth and development is based on its Tavern concept. Each Tavern uniquely takes on the flavor and personality of the neighborhood in which it resides. Amenities weaving a common thread through all locations include spacious yet cozy lounges, fireplaces, outdoor patios, numerous HD TVs and high-end architectural features. Vital to the success of the brand are the high standards upheld for the fresh food and friendly service provided to guests.

“Best Steak in Denver” Lukes a steak Place celebrates 20th Anniversary

Lukes a steak Place is“Best Steak in Denver”

4990 Kipling St.
Denver, CO 80033
(303) 422-3300
5 of 5 stars

This is a steak place, casual, friendly and unpretentious. The filet and New York Strip steaks are excellent. You have to try the pan fried potatoes and the sauteed mushrooms are to die for. The beef cows are corn fed and aged. The cheses cake is family recipe.Mike Lucas and family are pioneer Coloradoans. This is good clean food. Excellent all American salad, .
Great wine list.I have been going here for years at least 100 times and have never had a bad experience. In fact we are going to their 20th anniversary on Friday November the 18th.
The Clientele are all regulars (like 5000 of them). You best make a reservation. This is the kind of place sports figures come with their family or come to hide. You do see celebrities here . Great for business dinners.
During Stock show season or Rodeo at Frontier days Lukes a Steak place is packed. All of the cowboys come here. Famous beef ranchers come here. Coaches come here. Famous golfers show up here.

Luke's A Steak Place

Luke’s A Steak Place

Luke’s a Steak Place was established in 1992 by and entrepreneur Mike Lucas. After a three year fly fishing expedition around the world, he returned to Denver to start a new business, He was disappointed to learn that several of the old reliable steak houses had gone under, or were under new ownership. Thus Luke’s A Steak Place was born – a place where you could get a great steak and enjoy a casual, excellent dining experience. In the early years there was no menu – only Filets, New York, or Porterhouse steaks (regular or large) salad served family style, and spaghetti, baked potatoes, or home fries. Guests finished their dinners with Grandma Lucas’s recipe for the best cheesecake ever. As demand grew, Mike expanded the restaurant to include a full-service catering company (Luke’s A Steak at your Place) that can serve parties from as small as 20 – to as large as 500. While the restaurant is situated in Wheat Ridge, Colorado (NW Denver) its visitors come from across the US. It has become a destination for many families and business travelers, where they are in Denver. Luke’s has received many awards, including “Best Steak in Denver” Rocky Mountain News, Zagat’s Survey, 5280 Magazine, Westwood, Colorado Statesman , and Jay Fox Food Critic.

Today the varied menu includes fresh fish flown in every day, and incredible succulent steaks ranging from filets, bone-in filets and porterhouse, as well as large platters of seafood pasta, juicy pork tenderloin, pork chops and thick lamb chops. A Surf and Turf combination is available with steak of your choice and Lobster
Luke’s is open spring through fall at lunchtime with dining on the patio.

Lukes A Steak Place attracts sports figures

This Steak place in Wheat ridge right off of I-70 is one of Denver’s busy best kept secrets. It is a place where coaches, palyers and ranchers can all got for an excellent steak and remain not bugged by fans.

There are tastefully displayed autographed photos of sports figures such as Bobby Knight. Mike Lucas the owner is something of an Icon himself with longtime connections to CUs athletic department. But this is not a sports bar. It is a casual dining establishment with very fine steak. The clientele is well healed. The food excellent and you just might get a glimpse of  a coach or  an owner.  They all come here when they want to eat in peace.

Cherokee Dining On 12th Avenue

Since 1984, the beautiful Cherokee restaurant has been an integral part of the ever-evolving Golden Triangle section of Denver. Over the years, Kris Vogts and her family who purchased what was then known as the Cherokee Bar & Grill, have taken great pride in the comfortable, beautiful neighborhood feel of the establishment. The personal touch is apparent throughout: in the beautiful dècor of the cozy, intimate dining room, in the jungle of flowers planted around the building in the summer months, and the hand-painted stone tables of the gorgeous patio, with its tinkling stream, waterfall and sweeping views of downtown Denver. Of course, nowhere is this personal attention more apparent than in Cherokees’s cuisine, bringing a special touch to traditional American and Mexican fare with wonderful homemade sauces and only the freshest ingredients. Cherokee’s strong commitment to the community and fantastic cuisine have made the restaurant a long-time favorite. Visit once and your sure to come back.
