Long Odds For Nuggets
May 9th
Denver can become fourth team in history to move from double-digits to top-three
In less than two weeks, the Denver Nuggets will be seeking to become the fourth team in NBA history with the good fortune of swapping a double-digit draft position for a top-three pick.
The Nuggets currently sit at No. 11 on the draft board and the probability chart gives them a 90.74 percent chance of staying in that slot when the draft lottery is held on May 20.
In most years, the Nuggets would have a 0.8 percent chance of landing the top overall pick, but it jumps to 1.5 percent this year because they also own the rights to the New York Knicks’ seven lottery combinations as part of the Carmelo Anthony trade in 2011.
Denver will send the worse of its two first-round picks to Orlando as part of the Dwight Howard-Andre Iguodala-Arron Afflalo trade in 2012.
If the Nuggets don’t land the top pick, they still have a 1.78 percent chance of jumping to second and a 2.16 percent chance of picking third – thanks, once again, to their ownership of New York’s lottery combinations.

Arenados 26 Game Hitting Streak
May 8th
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado extended his hitting streak to 26 games with a seventh-inning, run-scoring double off Rangers reliever Neal Cotts during the Rockies 12-1 victory at Coors Field on Tuesday.
The streak is the longest in Major League Baseball this season and is just one shy of Michael Cuddyer’s franchise-record streak of 27 games, which was set last season.
Arenado was 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and a walk before lining the full-count pitch to left field. The ball splashed the chalk on the foul line, much to the delight of the 27,838 in attendance at Coors Field.
Arenado said he wasn’t putting much thought into the streak early in the game. But with the outcome in hand once he stepped up in the seventh, the 23-year-old conceded he felt some pressure.
Arenado’s hit was the 21st of the night for the Rockies, a season-high.

Rockies Replay Challenge Win
May 6th
Rockies got a reprieve in the second inning when a call at first base was overturned by an instant-replay challenge.
With two out in the inning and the Rockies leading, 2-0, DJ LeMahieu hit a bouncer to Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre, whose high throw caused first baseman Prince Fielder to leap and attempt to tag LeMahieu.
LeMahieu ducked under Fielder and touched first base with his left hand. First-base umpire Kerwin Danley ruled LeMahieu out before Rockies manager Walt Weiss issued a challenge.
The play was overturned. However, pitcher Jordan Lyles struck out to end the inning.
