Penn State & “The bystander affect”: when people see evil but won’t intervene. I’ve never really been subject to that. I have a clear sense of right and wrong and will intervene at the drop of a hat.

I am a member of a certain club. Over this past year where there have been rapes, robbery’s, violence and theft. I reported many of these incidents to the police when no one including the victims would say a word. My calls have resulted in 3 members being arrested and prosecuted.

Other members are furious with me for not keeping my mouth shut or having the board deal with it. (the board refused and denies to this day)  They were afraid they would lose their lease. The protection of the club is more important to them than the safety of it’s members. I was shocked to see that, yet realized that human beings are like sheep and will allow evil to go on just to not rock the boat. Fuck that not me. For those of you who know me, know I will engage and do engage. Penn State is a clear example of what happens when you remain a bystander.
