St. Augustine – Velo Fest Street Closures
May 4th
Bicycle event will impact downtown traffic on Friday & Saturday, May 9 & 10.
The bicycle events associated with Velo Fest will necessitate some road closures and detours in downtown on Saturday, May 10 starting at 6:30am until noon.
On Friday, May 9, starting at 5:30pm, a bicycle parade will depart Francis Field and continues east on W. Castillo Dr., south on S. Castillo Dr./Avenida Menendez, Cathedral Pl. and Cordova St. ending at Flagler College. While no roads will be closed for this event, vehicular traffic is urged to use caution along the route during the parade.
On Saturday, May 10, the Old City Crit bicycle race will necessitate the closing to vehicular traffic of streets comprising the race course, including Cathedral Pl. and portions of King St., Cordova St., Sevilla St., Valencia St. and Charlotte St. Note that parking along the race course will be prohibited starting at 3:00am and continuing until the event’s conclusion, approximately noon.

This Weekend – St. Johns County March for Babies
May 1st
St. Johns County 2014 March for Babies, scheduled for this Saturday, May 3, will not necessitate the closing of any streets, but vehicular traffic is asked to use caution when driving along the walk’s route for while participants will use sidewalks where available, the route includes some areas where there is no sidewalk.
The estimated 500-800 participants will begin the walk at Francis Field and continue east on W. Castillo Dr., south on S. Castillo Dr./Avenida Menendez, west on St. Francis St., south on Marine St., west on South St., north on St. George St., north on Cordova St., west on Orange St., and north on Riberia St. returning to Francis Field.
The walk is expected to conclude at approximately 10:30am.

St. Augustine Street Construction on Hypolita
Apr 20th
Construction related to the Downtown Improvement District will begin on Monday, April 21 which will necessitate the closure of Hypolita St. between Charlotte St. and St. George St. to all vehicles for approximately six months. The area will be open for pedestrian access.
This project consists of the reconstruction of Hypolita St., Spanish St. and Treasury St. encompassing both underground utility improvements, including water, sewer, and gas, and streetscaping including lighting, furniture, brick roadway, and coquina sidewalks.
Among the initial work by the contractor, J.B. Coxwell Contracting, Inc., will be: securing the laydown, or construction storage area, within the Toques parking lot; set up the maintenance of traffic plan and the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for phase 1; and layout the pedestrian access route.
The existing sightseeing vehicle stop at St. George St. and Hypolita St. will be relocated to the corner of Cordova St. and Hypolita St.
A construction commencement ceremony is tentatively planned for Monday, May 12.
