Jan 13th
When: Wednesday, Jan. 19, 7-9 p.m.
Where: Monarch High School, 329 Campus Drive, Louisville.
Farmers will discuss their experiences and challenges as well as how they farm in Boulder County. The panel includes Famuer Rasmussen, Jr., Jules Van Thuyne, Jr., Dwayne Cushman, Dave Asbury, Anne Cure and Mark Guttridge, all of whom are farmers and ranchers currently working in the county.
The event will consist of a facilitator-led discussion among the farmers and ranchers followed by a moderated question-and-answer session. Questions will be drawn from those submitted by the audience.
In November, Parks and Open Space held a forum on sustainable agriculture that focused on policy. The farm and ranch panel discussion will offer a chance to focus on practice.

Small wildland Fire on Peewink Mountain #boulder #fourmilefire #boulderfire
Jan 13th
On January 13, 2011 at approximately 3:00am, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, United States Forest Service, and members of the Sugarloaf Fire Department, Four Mile Fire Department, and Nederland Fire Department responded to the area of Peewink Mountain near the 8500 block of Sugarloaf Rd., on the report of a small wildland fire.
The Fire is burning on Forest Service property, and as of 05:30am, is approximately ½ acre in size. The fire is contained and no structures were threatened.
It is believed that the cause of the fire was from a previous slash pile burn on Forest Service property that reignited and spread. The Forest Service is assuming command of the incident.

Sarah Palin blasts Sheriff Clarence Dupnik; uses anti-semitic “blood libel” digs deeper hole. Plus display flag backwards, Video. #boulder #Tuscon
Jan 13th
The display of the US flag in Sarah Palins video is upside down and backwards. No media has seem to catch that as of yet. Did Palin do that intentionally to insult Americans? perhaps. She recently autographed The American flag which is considered defacing the flag and an insult. Her recently staged video attack on Tucson, Jews and the flag has sent Palins political career in to a nose dive. She and her reckless tea partys days on the American landscape are over. Now will the real Tina Fey please stand up.

Her use of the term blood libel to categorize the attacks against her and other conservatives was the chatter of the social networks in which she communicates. The term—a slur alluding to the idea that Jews feed on the blood of Christians—was, at the very least, a bad word choice. It did not convey her meaning clearly. She confused or alienated anyone she was trying to convince. And if it was meant to address only her base of core supporters, then it was an act of ill-timed agitation. from slate byJohn Dickerson
