CU-Boulder Leeds School Confident

Colorado business leaders confidence remains positive and has increased slightly going into the second quarter of 2014, according to the most recent Leeds Business Confidence Index, or LBCI, released today by the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business.
The second quarter LBCI posted a reading of 61, an increase from 59.9 last quarter. Expectations measured positive — at 50 or higher — for all of the metrics measured by the index, which include the national economy, state economy, industry sales, industry profits, capital expenditures and hiring plans.
The across-the-board positive standings represent 10 consecutive quarters of positive expectations, according to the Leeds School’s Business Research Division, which conducts the LBCI — a report that’s now in its 10th year.

Meints Allegedly Stabbed again

Tuesday, April 8, 2014 – Police in Boulder are investigating an alleged stabbing which the victim said took place in the 2100 block of Pine Street just before 3:00 this afternoon, April 8, 2014.
The victim is Zachary Meints. He told investigators that he was attacked and stabbed by an unknown male when Meints was walking in the area. He said his attacker thrust a folding knife into his abdomen. Meints drove himself to a local emergency room for treatment. The wound does not appear to be serious.
Meints shared that he had been stabbed in Lafayette recently.
Meints said he tried to spray the suspect with pepper spray, but feels he missed. The attacker fled toward to the east and police have been working to locate him.
The suspect is described as:
White male
Unknown age
Wearing a black and white bandana over his face and a long-sleeve black shirt
5’10” tall, 175 pounds (medium build)

CU Looses 13-5 to Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 8 Stanford Cardinal proved too strong a foe, taking down the Buffaloes 13-5 here Sunday, even though The University of Colorado lacrosse team battled back to within three goals late in the first half.
The reigning Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament champions came out to a 5-0 start, but back-to-back goals by the Buffs helped trim their lead to three. Stanford quickly got back to form, closing the first half on a 4-0 run.
Though the Cardinal dominated the draw in the second half, eight to one (15 to five total), the Buffs found their stride in other ways late in the game. Stanford continued to push its lead, but for the sixth consecutive game, the Buffs held their opponent to five or fewer goals in the final 30 minutes.
