Who Are You? What is your Life Path?
Find out in a new book entitled, Human Design: Discover the Person You Were Born To Be written by Chetan Parkyn and published by New World Library this month. The book cover is here through the courtesy of the publisher.
In 1972, while traveling in India, a psychic told the author that he should “get ready” to introduce thousands of people to a system that would enhance their lives. Over the next several years, Chetan was into face reading, Tarot cards, astrology, the I Ching and others. He found out about a teacher Ra Uru Hu who was teaching a new system called Human Design. Chetan studied this system which is a combination of four ancient wisdom traditions: astrology, the chakra system, the I Ching and the Kabhalah.
Chetan’s book teaches readers how to create their own life charts. The book includes some celebrity life charts from Madonna, Princess Diana, David Beckham and Sandra Bullock among others.
The “system” is a different way of finding self-awareness by using three keys: the type of natural being; authority which leads an individual to their own design by using their birth time and date; profile provides a portrait of how a person interacts with life and other people.

THIS WEEKEND IN BOULDER:
Okay, this weekend is filled with activities in downtown Boulder and at the 29th Street Mall. Parades, music and much more are readily available.
On top of that the Four Mile Canyon Fire is out, people are returning to their home sites or homes to sift through their belongings. Time to let them heal. We will be covering the parade, if there really is a parade to honor firefighters, law enforcement and others involved in the recent fire. Pretty miraculous, wasn’t it, that 3000 people are safe after being evacuated either through the reverse 911 or the work of Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies knocking on doors. What an exhausting 10 days!
Enjoy the lovely days and the football game! CU vs Hawaii. Aloha!
Boulders High Rent District
Aug 1st
The Downtown Boulder Pearl Street Mall has become a desirable location for various retail and other businesses. But, as buildings change ownership, the rents change, too. Out-of-area landlords may expect higher rent from retailers which, in many recent cases, causes the retailers to close and move shop!
Recently there have been several Pearl Street Mall businesses closing and moving because the rents topped at 10% increases or more. Some have opted to move to 29th Street. Several are still in their current locations with “for rent” signs glaring in their windows.
As to the outcome, we’ll wait and see. The cute boutique Chelsea near 10th Street on Pearl Street is moving and so is the T-Bar, upscale lingerie which moved from its original location on 9th Street and is now located on Pearl near 15th Street ! Some stores with internet sales can survive. Others can’t.
While out of town visitors may spend more here, residents are struggling along just like others in other parts of the country.
Increasing prices won’t gain more customers. So, anything on Pearl Street had better be a big “seller” or they won’t be here long. Restaurants, too, come and go for the same reasons.
What is the downtown management doing about it? Stimulating the economy in a secret way that brings additional retailers and customers to town? When so many events take up the spaces on the Mall and nearby streets, people do not frequent the shops more. Instead, they come for the events and leave.
So, Boulder’s high rent district is just that. It doesn’t seem to want to go away!
That 80’s band plays 29th Street
Jul 21st
That 80’s Band kicks off Memorial Day weekend. Boulder Creek Event’s first summer concert at 29th street in Boulder. What we witnessed was this great band doing covers of 80s music…like all of it…and they did it well. The audience was a new audience for Boulder too. A little cooler. Not so public and fun. That 80s band saw a big crowd who enjoyed their music. But most of all they did a good job of covering everything from Michael Jackson to the B-52s. Hats off and come back to Boulder soon.
