Boulder police –Well-disguised robber hits Circle K on 28th

Robbery suspect sought in Circle K hold-up
Boulder police are looking for a suspect they believe is responsible for robbing the Circle K store at 3185 28th St. on Jan. 8, 2012. The robbery occurred at 11:12 p.m.
The male clerk told police that a customer had loitered in the store for several minutes before approaching the counter and demanding cash from the register. The suspect did not show a weapon, and the clerk complied with the suspect’s request for money. The clerk was not hurt.
It’s not known if the suspect is male or female because the suspect’s face was not visible during the robbery. He/she was wearing a maroon or red-colored hoodie, tied tightly around his or her face with a white drawstring. The suspect is:
- 5’10” tall, with broad shoulders
- Dark eyes, wearing eyeshadow & mascara
- Boot-cut blue jeans with a tear or hole in the left knee
- Long black gloves
- Black fabric shoes
The case number is P12-347.
There is no other information available.
Police would like to speak with anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who may have information about the robbery of the Circle K store. Occupy Boulder hour of doom rapidly approaching

Boulder police chief visits Occupy Boulder encampment, discusses city park hours
Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner, along with Boulder Police Cmdr. Carey Weinheimer, visited participants at the Occupy Boulder encampment outside the Municipal Building this afternoon to discuss the new rule that goes into effect tonight, which closes city parks between the hours of 11 p.m and 5 a.m.
The rule prohibits anyone from remaining in city parks, parkways or recreation areas, with the exception of bicyclists and pedestrians who are passing through the areas. Individuals remaining between the hours of 11 p.m and 5 a.m. will be in violation of the city’s trespassing rule and subject to receiving a summons or being arrested. The chief and commander handed out copies of the new regulation as they spoke to individuals at the encampment this afternoon.
Boulder chief of police warms Occupy protestors of deadline
Because Occupy Boulder protestors have been camping overnight on the Sister Cities’ Plaza outside of the Municipal Building for several weeks, Chief Beckner wanted to make sure individuals were aware of the change, which goes into effect tonight.
“Boulder police officers have been engaging in dialogues with Occupy Boulder participants all along. I thought it was important to continue those dialogues so that they understood the new rule, when it goes into effect and what the potential consequences are if they decide to stay,” Beckner said. “The police department intends to enforce the trespassing regulation, but what we are really hoping for is voluntary compliance. We support all people’s First Amendment rights to express their opinions, and hope they will do so during the daytime hours.”
Discussions between the chief and the participants at the encampment were low-key and positive, as most of the interactions have been to date. Many of the protestors are planning to comply with the new rule and some shared with Chief Beckner their plans for packing up their tents and making arrangements to protest during hours that the city parks are open.
Police intend to enforce the park closure rule, although the department has not set a timeline to do so.
Boulder police: credit card theft suspects caught on film

Suspects using stolen credit cards caught on security footage
Boulder police are trying to identify the male and female in the attached photos. Police believe the two were using a stolen credit card to make purchases at the King Soopers store located at 1650 30th St. in Boulder
The credit card was among items reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2800 block of Springdale Lane on Dec. 22. The victim had parked his vehicle around 9:00 p.m. on Dec. 21. When he returned to the vehicle the next morning, he found that the vehicle’s passenger window had been smashed. The suspect or suspects took the credit card, electronics and cash. 
Police are looking for the male and female captured on security video from King Soopers. Both suspects are white. The male was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, a dark baseball cap and was carrying a red backpack. The female was wearing a white jacket, a hat with earflaps and sunglasses.
The case number is 11-16505.
Also, during the overnight hours of Dec. 27, there was a series of vehicle trespasses in which windows were smashed and items stolen from a number of vehicles in the Boulder area. Investigators haven’t determined whether the cases from last night are related to the case from Dec. 21.

- Always lock your car
- Park in well-lit areas
- Don’t leave any valuables in the car – take your cell phone, laptop, camera, iPod and cash/credit cards, etc. with you
- The trunk isn’t always safe; thieves often smash windows, enter the vehicle and pop the trunk
