Even YOU can own a home in Boulder
Feb 22nd
Interested homebuyers have an opportunity to tour 18 affordable properties in the City of Boulder’s Homeownership Program during open houses being held Sunday, Feb. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. To view pictures of available homes and get a list of properties participating in this event, visit www.boulderaffordablehomes.com and click on the Homeownership Program link.
Homes available for viewing include studios, condos, townhomes and single family homes starting at around $100,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bath condo and $200,000 for a three-bedroom, 3-bath row home.
The City of Boulder, through the affordable Homeownership Program, works to make homes available to a variety of people in our community. This includes those who could not otherwise purchase a home in today’s housing market. The program offers opportunities for homeownership to those with low and moderate incomes through assistance in purchasing homes sold at affordable prices, or through down payment assistance on market rate homes. Assistance is available for a variety of income levels.
For more information on the program, homes available, income and asset requirements, or the date of the next free program orientation visit www.boulderaffordablehomes.com or call 303-441-3157, ext. 2. The Homeownership Program is administered by the City of Boulder, Department of Housing and Human Services.
More about Boulder Channel 1 and its rise

Boulders Internet TV News & Newspaper
This is Boulder Channel 1s news channel and newspaper with local news stories posted through out the day. We have TV news casts and community feature stories. All local All Boulder. Ron Baird News editor; Dan Culberson movies; Bill Allen, housing market and business. TV news stories by Jenn Conner and Heather Loser. Friday city news feature from Channel 8 and more from Jann Scott.
We also have separate video with print stories posted. But rather than thinking of us as a bunch of independent bloggers, we are not. We operate as a traditional news organization with both TV news and a newspaper all right here. Having said that, we will on occasion, post blogs that are news worthy to Boulder. We serve Boulder exclusively and have been since 1999 when we posted our first TV news cast on Tripod using University of Colorado servers.
In 1997 we live stream cast one of the first weekly TV shows in the world from CATV 54 at the Dairy center for performing arts. In 2005 we moved all of our streams to Boulder channel 1. In 2006 we launched The world Channel 1 networks building TV channel in every city in the world. In 2009 we launched Channel One Networks. 2010 we began the arduous process of moving all 100,000 plus pages to word press. And now in 2011 we are launching Boulder channel 1 into a new updated site. So keep looking for changes. If you are interested in our progress you can subscribe to a daily news feed over on the left hand side.
‘A New Threat to Home Prices’
Sep 19th
You may be thinking, this will not affect me, this is only about high-end homes, wrong! If expensive homes stop selling, then prices for the houses under them will feel the pressure too. As this issue will fall from high-end to low-end there is threat to the housing market. Experts believe that President Obama will propose a major housing-related stimulus in the coming weeks as part of a broader economic plan. May it be cutting conforming loans or creating more hurdles for ‘jumbo’ loans.
I will be keeping tabs on this story as it progresses.
