About 80 miles Northwest of Denver lays Grand Lake, a small town with a population of under 500. Grand Lake was established in 1881 and has an elevation of close to 8500 feet. The town is full of private lakes that give landowners a feeling of peace and seclusion.
Grand Lake is tucked away between parts of the Rocky Mountains. This was my first time at Grand Lake and the thing that stood out most to me was the beauty of being on a boat and feeling at sea level, while you actually sit thousands of feet above buried in the Rockies.
Being surrounded by Snow capped mountains and extremely deep Lakes is only part of the environment. A local resident is used to such animals as Moose, Hummingbirds, Mallards and plenty of Deer and Elk.
