More about Boulder Channel 1 and its rise
Oct 6th
Boulders Internet TV News & Newspaper
This is Boulder Channel 1s news channel and newspaper with local news stories posted through out the day. We have TV news casts and community feature stories. All local All Boulder. Ron Baird News editor; Dan Culberson movies; Bill Allen, housing market and business. TV news stories by Jenn Conner and Heather Loser. Friday city news feature from Channel 8 and more from Jann Scott.
We also have separate video with print stories posted. But rather than thinking of us as a bunch of independent bloggers, we are not. We operate as a traditional news organization with both TV news and a newspaper all right here. Having said that, we will on occasion, post blogs that are news worthy to Boulder. We serve Boulder exclusively and have been since 1999 when we posted our first TV news cast on Tripod using University of Colorado servers.
In 1997 we live stream cast one of the first weekly TV shows in the world from CATV 54 at the Dairy center for performing arts. In 2005 we moved all of our streams to Boulder channel 1. In 2006 we launched The world Channel 1 networks building TV channel in every city in the world. In 2009 we launched Channel One Networks. 2010 we began the arduous process of moving all 100,000 plus pages to word press. And now in 2011 we are launching Boulder channel 1 into a new updated site. So keep looking for changes. If you are interested in our progress you can subscribe to a daily news feed over on the left hand side.
Boulder Smell smoke?? It’s a prescribed burn
Oct 5th
There is currently no emergency.
Boulder County will conduct a prescribed burn today at the Hall Ranch Open Space from approximately 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Hall Ranch is located north of Highway 7, west of Lyons, south of Highway 36 and west to Button Rock Preserve. Today’s burn will include approximately 70 acres in the area west of the prairie dog town and east of the Nelson Loop trail.
Hall Ranch Open Space will be closed in its entirety for the burn operation.
During a prescribed burn, smoke will be visible and will drift according to wind currents and atmospheric conditions.
Smoke may continue to be visible after the fire is out and may settle in some areas at night when cooler air traps smoke closer to the ground.
If the smoke is bothersome, close windows and stay indoors.

Boulder County website down Saturday
Oct 5th
The downtime is to allow for county Information Technology to complete a scheduled infrastructure upgrade that will increase the county’s Storage Area Network and keep all county systems and applications running smoothly.
The downtime has been scheduled for Saturday morning and early afternoon because that is when both visitor traffic to the website and internal demands are near their lowest levels.
Please note: Boulder County employees will not be able to send or receive emails during the downtime.
Please plan accordingly. The county sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and will work to have the website up-and-running as quickly as possible.
As always, in the event of a county emergency, the emergency status page on the Boulder Office of Emergency Management’s website will be updated at www.BoulderOEM.com. The Boulder OEM website will not be affected by Saturday’s maintenance work. To report a non-emergency law enforcement issue, call the Sheriff’s Office dispatch line at 303-441-4444.
