Police investigate Seth Brigham for Criminal Charges related to recent attack on Boulder city council

Detectives and uniformed police attempted to contact Seth Brigham last night at 8:00 pm to investigate him on criminal charges. In a letter to Brigham today Police Chief Mark Beckner told Seth:
Brigham has created an email thread over the past week where he included amongst others Boulder Channel 1 and Judd Golden from the ACLU. Golden was a willing recipient in the email thread but singled out chief Beckner here showing his biased aganst Police :According to Judd Golden in a letter Today to Chief Beckner: ”
“You are the subject member in the investigation because it is your behavior that created probable cause to believe you violated several laws, including city ordinance 5-5-1(a) Obstructing Government Operations; C.R.S. 18-9-108, Disrupting Lawful Assembly; and 18-9-110, Public Buildings – trespass, interference. Our investigation will document what occurred, what violations occurred, and what warnings were provided (letter from City Manager). Any future criminal behavior on your part will likely result in more”than just a warning.”
Brigham has also received a letter from the city manager telling him he was being investigated. Mayor Susan Osborne also wrote to Brigham telling him ” there were consequences”

The ACLU has no information about this incident. We do not represent Mr. Brigham or speak for him. The ACLU takes no position on his conduct which is the subject of this email thread or the law enforcement response thereto. However, as we have repeatedly stated: The ACLU urges Council to make needed changes in the rules of decorum for public participation as has been proposed to Council by the City Attorney.”
Brigham has admittedly suffered from mental health problems, but his recent appearances at Council have him drunk and disorderly according to witness’s.
As a point of disclosure Seth Brigham has been a contributor to Boulder Channel 1 news. This story is about him, not by him.
Police investigate second-degree assault

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a second-degree assault that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 4:45 p.m. at 13th Street and Portland Place. A male suspect, in an unprovoked attack, spit on the victim as he walked by. The suspect started punching the victim, knocking him to the ground. While on the ground, the victim was kicked. The suspect ran away when a citizen driving by stopped to help. The victim sustained cuts and bruises on his head and face, as well as a fractured cheek bone. The victim is still recovering from his injuries.
The suspect is a white male, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches, to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was unshaven with a 3 to 4 day growth of beard. His unkempt short hair was light brown to sandy in color. He had light blue/green eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey long sleeve baseball type shirt with “Tennessee orange” accents at the shoulders. His complexion was described as tan but dirty. He was carrying a black backpack with masking tape wrapped around the shoulder straps. A composite sketch is attached to this release.

Police respond to threats in bathrooms at Boulder High School

Today at 11:30 a.m., Boulder Police School Resource Officers responded to Boulder High School, 1604 Arapahoe Ave., on a report of two threats written on bathroom walls. One threat was found in a 3rd floor men’s restroom. The second threat was found in a men’s restroom on the 2nd floor.
The threats appeared to be similar in writing. The threats targeted those who will attend Boulder High School, as well as Latinos, in particular, on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, and the author stated that he or she would bring a gun to school. School Resource Officers, the department’s Intelligence Officer and school officials are working together to identify the author of the threats. No arrests have been made at this time.
Safety plans have been put in place through the remainder of this week utilizing School Resource Officers, school security and other police officers, as necessary.
Deputy Police Chief Greg Testa said, “We take every threat seriously. Officers are working with school officials to resolve this issue and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to keep our children safe.”
