Open house for Valmont Road project set for Jan. 6
Dec 29th
What: Valmont Road project open house
When: Thursday, Jan. 6, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Where: Cure Organic Farm Stand, 7450 Valmont Road
Staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the project, which will address the lack of shoulders on the roadway, longstanding safety issues and severely deteriorating pavement condition.
“The plan is to maintain the road’s current alignment and two-lane configuration,” said Tim Swope, Boulder County Transportation’s Capital Projects Coordinator. “Some minor realignment may occur to accommodate the shoulder width, reduce impacts to agricultural properties and to minimize the need for tree removal.”
In addition to paved road shoulders to improve vehicle safety and provide space for bicycles, the plan includes upgrades to ditch crossings and drainage culverts, new pavement, a new trail approach and crossing of the East Boulder Trail at Dry Creek.
Visit the Boulder County website for more information or contact Tim Swope at tswope@bouldercounty.org or 720-564-2658.
