Bar Car Acres is named after owners Bart and Carman Beck. And just like their name implies, both Bart and Carman put a large part of themselves into their company. It all began when co-owner Carman Beck visited a grooming shop in eighth grade for career day. From that day on, she was hooked! She opened her grooming business more than 30 years ago and still considers it a joy to go to work. Through the years, the grooming business evolved into a boarding facility when her clientele began requesting care for their pets while they were away.

| Friend –Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is this Monday, and we’re commemorating it over the next several days with service opportunities to help build the kind of future that he envisioned.
Some of us will be pitching in at food and clothing drives. Others will help out with neighborhood cleanup, education projects, blood drives, or other events. This movement has always been about more than winning one election. It’s about empowering others and strengthening the communities where we live. Public invited to comment on Climate Change Preparedness Plan
Draft to be discussed at meetings in Boulder and Longmont
Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County is developing a Climate Change Preparedness Plan to help local residents and communities better prepare for changing environmental conditions.
A team of local consultants reviewed science pertinent to the Front Range and developed a list of recommendations for the community. The strategies outlined in the draft plan will be available for public review at two January meetings and for comment online until Feb. 24.
Anyone who lives or works in Boulder County is invited to provide feedback on the draft plan by mail, online, or at one of two public meetings:
Boulder

Where: Boulder County Courthouse, third floor hearing room, 1325 Pearl St.
Longmont
When: Thursday, Jan. 26, 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Boulder County Parks and Open Space, 5201 St. Vrain Road
