Boulder police release sketch of scissor attack suspect

Boulder police continue to investigate an assault which occurred in the area of 13th and Spruce Streets on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at around 10:21 p.m. The unknown suspect attacked the male victim with a pair of scissors.
A sketch of the suspect is attached.
According to the 18-year-old victim, he was walking with a female friend when the suspect lunged at him and attacked him without provocation. The victim suffered cuts and abrasions as he struggled to get away. He was treated and released at a local hospital.
The suspect left the area on foot after the altercation, and the victim and his friend flagged down an officer who was responding to a report of a fight in the area.
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- Between 5’7” and 5’10” tall
- Medium build
- Brownish-blonde hair, with a receding hairline
- 30’s
- Wearing a short-sleeve green t-shirt
- Possibly transient
- “Sunken” face

Boulder Police searching for missing 39-year-old man

Boulder police are searching for 39-year-old Daniel Robert Holloway, a white male who was last by family members on June 7, 2013 around 3:30 p.m.
Holloway left his home in the 3500 block of 28th St. and did not tell anyone where he was going. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since June 7.
Holloway is about 6’1” tall, weighs 195 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. His family is concerned about his welfare.
A passerby found some of Holloway’s belongings, which included a messenger bag and cell phone, near the Boulder Creek Path in the vicinity of Arapahoe and Foothills.

Police ask anyone who may have seen Holloway or who may know his whereabouts to contact Detective Jeremy Frenzen at 303-441-1890. City of Boulder enacts fire restrictions on Open Space & Mountain Parks lands and bans use of charcoal grills in city parks
Due to a Boulder County fire ban, the City of Boulder has implemented a City Manager’s Rule banning all sources of fire including camp stoves and smoking on all Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) properties. OSMP imposes these bans during extreme fire hazard conditions for public safety and resource protection. Fire danger is currently at a very high level.
In addition, users of the following City of Boulder parks are prohibited from using park charcoal grills and no charcoal grills may be brought into the specified parks due to the proximity to natural lands and forests, until further notice:
● Chautauqua Park, located at Grant Street and Baseline Road
● Eben G. Fine Park, located at 3rd Street and Arapahoe Avenue
Gas grills are only allowed in the Chautauqua Park green area and in Eben G. Fine Park with a permit. To obtain a permit, the Parks and Recreation Department requires two weeks’ notice and a $100 deposit. Eben G. Fine Park also requires a shelter rental. Violators are subject to criminal prosecution with penalties up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. OSMP and Boulder firefighters appreciate the public’s cooperation.
