Blotter – February 24, 2011
A woman driving a gray Saab struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Pine Street and Broadway around 3:15. The bicyclist was thrown from her bike and transported to the hospital for treatment. She suffered from abrasions to her right hip and right elbow. The driver admitted fault and said she had trouble seeing because of the western sun. The driver was issued a summons.
Police responded to the Bright Now dental practice at 1840 Folsom after used x-ray development solution was reported spilled. The office building was evacuated (about 35 people) as a precaution, and no one was injured. There was a sewage back-up in the building at the same time, unrelated to the x-ray solution spill.
A 22-year-old male was arrested in the 700 block of Arapahoe after his girlfriend alleged that he grabbed her by the throat after an argument. The victim reported to police that the suspect also locked her out of the residence when she tried to gather her belongings. The case is closed. 11-2474.
Boulder cops seek ID of "identity theft" crook…photos and story:

Boulder police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in an identity theft case. On Jan. 6, a suspect entered a parked car and stole the victim’s wallet and ID. The suspect then used the victim’s stolen credit cards and made over $2,000 in purchases at the Best Buy in Boulder.
The suspect who used the credit cards is described as a white male with reddish brown hair and a light complexion. He appeared to be in his 20’s. Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached.
The case number for this incident is 11-226.

Police investigate second-degree assault

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a second-degree assault that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 4:45 p.m. at 13th Street and Portland Place. A male suspect, in an unprovoked attack, spit on the victim as he walked by. The suspect started punching the victim, knocking him to the ground. While on the ground, the victim was kicked. The suspect ran away when a citizen driving by stopped to help. The victim sustained cuts and bruises on his head and face, as well as a fractured cheek bone. The victim is still recovering from his injuries.
The suspect is a white male, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches, to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was unshaven with a 3 to 4 day growth of beard. His unkempt short hair was light brown to sandy in color. He had light blue/green eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey long sleeve baseball type shirt with “Tennessee orange” accents at the shoulders. His complexion was described as tan but dirty. He was carrying a black backpack with masking tape wrapped around the shoulder straps. A composite sketch is attached to this release.
