COME ONE; COME ALL!!!
ages 3 & up
The fun class introduces new students to basic ice skating posture & terminology, rotation principles, & jump/
spin technique through various exercises common to skating  & dance instruction. Students will have a safe &
fun experience of skating before ever putting on skates, making for a safer & easier transition to the ice. Not to
mention with a higher rate of skill acquisition! It’s free for students of our summer session. Session registration
available on-site before & after class, or on the web:
The classes are taught by C3 director Cliff Patterson, recent CU Boulder alum. Cliff has been on the ice since 1985, dancing since
1992, and has been working as a pro in the field since 1997. He came to Boulder in 2007 to finish his dance degree. We are
proud to bring his experience and whole person approach to the Boulder community. Our goals for the skating program include
building a year-round program in Boulder, increasing accessibility  to the already fantastic CU ice rink, which will be replaced
within the next couple years, & performance collaborations with nearby programs,. We would like to install theatre lights in the
new facility. Come learn to skate with us; we hope to add to the arts and sports culture thriving in Boulder.

Boulder SM Trada girl has bike stolen during SUB week

Below, Elaine Ellis tries to find her bike on Twitter and SM. In yet another stolen bike story. Last week our columnist Seth Brigham had his bike stolen, but he scoured the neighborhood and found it. We posted his blog here too.  But In this blog post Ellis does not say from where or when exactly the bike was stolen which will make it that much harder to find. Boulder Police say they retrieve less than 20% of stolen bikes.

Posted by Elaine Ellis on May 23, 2011

My bike was stolen Saturday. And this is the picture of the person who stole it. Have you seen this bike thief?

This man felt entitled to my $500+ Trek Allant despite not paying for it. He felt so entitled to something he didn’t own that he felt he could rip the lock out of brick. He rifled through the unlocked bikes next to my bike and took mine. But Karma is a bitch and this story can have a happy ending. Because peopleacross from my courtyard took pictures of the person stealing my bike.

If you hate people who feel entitled to steal things that they don’t own, then you can help me get out the word about this bike thief. Not that I’m bitter. Bike thieves are one of the worst things about living in Boulder. And this is our chance to make sure we ruin his joy ride of thievery. And could you please keep an eye out for a man riding around on my olive green Trek Allant? It’s a popular model but I’d love to get it back.

Oh, and bike thief?

“You don’t have to confess you did it. We are looking for you. We gonna find you. I’m letting you know now so you can run and tell that homeboy.”

Now the  rest of you Boulder StartUpStarts try not to mar our town before you leave: Andre Hyde and his sm pals have already pissed us off.

Police clear suspect in graffiti incident

Boulder police have interviewed a teenager photographed leaving a condominium rooftop in the 1300 block of Rosewood Avenue on the evening of May 8, and have cleared him of graffiti allegations.

Police were called to the condo by a witness who saw the 17-year-old boy on the roof and took his picture as he left the area. When officers arrived, they found fresh graffiti on the rooftop.

During the subsequent investigation, the teen admitted to police that he had trespassed on the roof of the building, but said he did so to take sunset photos of the mountains. He provided police with those photos to support his story. He has no prior history of “tagging.”

Police will not be pursuing graffiti or vandalism charges against the teen and are still determining whether he will face trespassing charges.
