13th Annual Turtletown Beach Clean-up

St. Johns County, FL. – Residents are invited to help prepare our local beaches for sea turtle nesting season by sweeping our beaches clean during the 13th Annual Turtletown Beach Cleanup from 8 – 11 a.m. on April 26. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate. Registration forms, bags, and gloves will be available on the day of the clean-up at the following event sites:
Micklers Landing, 1109 Ponte Vedra Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach
Vilano Beach Access Ramp, Vilano Road, Vilano Beach
St. Johns County Fishing Pier, 350 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine Beach
Crescent Beach Parking Lot, 6930 A1A S., St. Augustine
Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and use hats and sunscreen. Individuals, groups, clubs, schools, churches, and scouts are welcome to volunteer. Pre-service Training Classes For Residents Interested in becoming Foster Parents or Adoptive Parents

The St. Johns County Family Integrity Program is hosting Foster Parent/Adoptive Parent Pre-Service Training Classes for interested residents who would like to provide a loving home for children in need of a temporary family.
The course will run for ten consecutive weeks and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 1 in the Health and Human Services Building, 1955 US1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32086. Classes will last for approximately three hours, and child care is not provided. There is no obligation or cost, and classes are fun, informative, and challenging. A division of the St. Johns County Health and Human Services Department, the Family Integrity Program works under contract from the Department of Children and Families to provide Foster Care, Protective Services, Independent Living, Adoption, and Preventative services to St. Johns County families in times of crisis. For additional information, interested parties are invited to attend the initial class or call 904.209.6131.

Come join the fun and experience St. Augustine’s fascinating Greek Heritage at the 15th Annual Greek Festival hosted by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Enjoy a delicious assortment of Greek foods, pastries and beverages along with nonstop entertainment with live Greek music by the Hellenic Band and performances by Greek dance troupes. On Saturday at 9 a.m. there will be a Ready, Set, Go Greek-Fest Run. The Festival takes place from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Francis Field behind St. Augustine’s Historic Downtown Parking Garage on Castillo Drive.
