pleased with Boulder county Joe Pelle’s backing the NRA’s stance on guns and opposition to Colorado’s new gun laws. “I am really disappointed in him said one police official. ” The NRA are a dangerous group and the prisons are loaded with their kind” …I can’t imagine how Joe is backing them.”
Another hi level Sheriff told me ” You have to know that people who are not all there are attracted to the NRA and extreme gun politics” ” The NRA has been taken over by the radical element ” the Sheriff said. A third Police official and a college instructor in law enforcement told me ” The NRA has changed and so has it’s membership. It used to be that there were a few extremists but since Charlton Heston made that ‘from my cold dead hands comment’ the whole organisation has shifted.
My run in with NRA members last month has led to open police cases by Boulder PD, Sante Fe PD and Gainsville Ga pd as well as ATF and FBI investigations on some pretty crazy NRA members who use social media and the internet to attack people. Sufficed to say that law enforcement nationwide are keeping close tabs on these people. They are currently known as ” conservative christian constitutionalist, tea party, patriots, Republicans”. They used to be know as Militia in the 90s.
The IRS investigates Tea Party and Patriots I am glad they scrutinized this group before handing out non profit status. These people are domestic terrorists. They keep the ATF, FBI, Secret service , and US Marshals plenty busy protecting our president from them.
Startup Boulder Week 2013 fueled by alcohol How the city and Downtown Boulder ever got involved in promoting this drunken convention is beyond me. There is so much drinking going on at this years Start up Boulder , it needs to studied by the city and police. Just yesterday there were over 30 companies in Downtown Boulder handing out free booze all day to anyone who walked in the front door. It was called the Start Up crawl . On the Pearls street mall, Downtown Boulder has a booze tent set up for the entire week. Many of the events are held in bars . There are drinking parties every night. There are drinking breakfasts. What the fuck is going on.? This is supposed to be about Boulder being a business startup community and it has turned into a week long drunk. All that is missing is a Golf tournament.
from the Drinking Capital of America, where there are more alcoholics with engineering degrees than anywhere on earth, where we breed alcoholics, where the city does not give a rats ass, where the health effects are dire
“Hotshots” looks at a movie!
The Dictator is Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest film and is not to be confused with the 1940 Charles Chaplin film, The Great Dictator, nor any of the many other films based on Mark Twain’s 1881 story, “The Prince and the Pauper.”
Yes, the story is about a leader of a country who tries to pass himself off as a commoner, either by choice or force, and in this case, force.
Admiral General Aladeen is the dictator of the North African nation of Wadiya, and he has the extravagantly long beard to prove it. He is also so egotistical that he changes the names of many words to “Aladeen” to honor his glory.
He is also so stupid that he doesn’t see the problem in changing the Wadiyan words of both “positive” and “negative” to “Aladeen,” especially when a doctor asks his patient, “Do you want the Aladeen news or the Aladeen news?”
Ben Kingsley plays Tamir, Admiral General Aladeen’s second in command, and your first question should be “What is Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley doing in this piece of crap movie?
Apparently, just as there are no small parts, only small actors, there are no big actors who aren’t willing to prostitute themselves for a small paycheck.
Tamir finds a double for Admiral General Aladeen whose only real job is to be shot in the head, because the people of Wadiya want to live in a democracy, not a dictatorship.
The job requirement for being the double of Admiral General Aladeen is to be stupid, and because Cohen also plays the role of the double, he can act even more stupid than he usually does.
Of course, the story moves to New York City, where Admiral General Aladeen is to give a speech at the United Nations, of course there is a kidnaping plot, of course the admiral general’s beard is cut off while he is being tortured, of course he escapes the kidnaper, and of course the rest of the movie is about the beardless Aladeen trying to exist on his own in New York City.
However, not of course, the movie takes a turn of events when Aladeen meets Zoe, a radical socialist played by Anna Faris, and he takes a job working for her.
The Dictator is a one-joke movie worth two chuckles, tops.
I’m Dan Culberson and this is “Hotshots.”
First let me say, I think you have been doing an excellent job as city manager. This coming from someone who has been critical of most city officials over the years. In part it is my job. Also, though I have never met you, you have given me nor anyone concerned with free press a reason to complain. It is a far sight from your predecessors. I think you have resolved the public access TV issue remarkably well. Though we don’t have free public access TV anymore , we do have educational access TV and it fills the void for all citizens interested. Having BVSD run it is a good move, because they don’t cause problems.
I also think the city and police have interacted well with the occupy Boulder movement. Tonight they are camped on the front lawn of the municipal building. That’s very nice. They are our children. And they are doing what we did’; protest the injustices of powerful corporations who don’t pay taxes and big banks who attempt to enslave us all. So they need protesting.
Personally, I would have suggested that the kids protested the homes of Boulder bankers who swindle people, rather than the city manager who is trying to keep the lid on all of it.
In any event I support occupys political tactics. I think when a group who are trying to fight for freedom and against greed or intolerance, run into road blocks, they will change the rules in public policy. I certainly did. They people who stood up to the city over lack of free speech concerning public access TV, took radical steps to be heard. I did from 2005 to 2007. The city council and the city manger were under daily attacks by video, blogs and speech at council. Did it solve anything ? It showed without resolution they would remain under siege.
Much holds true with occupy Boulder. Until the banks and corporations are held accountable by the city, occupy is not going away. That is the issue. Not the protesters. They are Boulders children carrying on.

If the cops pulled this crap in black Oakland they would have gotten their asses kicked. It would have been war. Guns would have come out. Black and Hispanic gangsters in Cali don’t have any problem shooting back at police. It happens daily. Will the kinship between students and gangsters evolve into armed warfare with the police? Gandhi not prevailing it is headed that way. Incidents like this upped the violence. It will make students rethink non-violence. It will give radical more violent protesters a reason to start throwing rocks, bringing their own batons or guns.
Interesting , the 2nd amendment allows for armed militias to fight back at an unjust government. It is in the American constitution. Though the left militias usually don’t carry guns, sooner or later some one of them is going to trip over the 2nd amendment and start shooting back.
What those idiot cops did and what their idiot spokesperson said was a declaration of war on peaceful students on all American campuses. It is happening again. If the police, the university and the local government represent the interests of corrupt bankers, by not allowing civil protests, camp ins etc, we may see a stepped up response by student protesters.
This situation has made it dangerous for every decent police officer in America. Firing the UC Davis police department should help. American kids have access to guns unlike their counterparts in North Africa. This situation could turn very ugly. Protesters could start shooting back at police next time. It is not the 1960′s as some have been lulled into thinking. America is more violent.
Who are the police anyway? The black panthers figured that out. When the police started beating up and shooting people in the inner city, the Panthers brought guns. The Panthers evolved into The Bloods and Crips who still shoot back. There is an understanding between cops and gangsters. Violence. When will that develop in the Occupy movement? I’d say, right about now. What happened in Davis, in fact what is happening to occupy protesters all over this country is bullshit. Let them protest. Let them camp in parks. Who the fuck care? They are not hurting anybody. But the cops really fucked up this time and they should be put on notice…..go looking for a gun fight, you’re gonna find one.
This is where the right and left… tea party and occupy will jell. Tea Party members know all about guns. If those two groups come together, look for armed revolution.
