Boulder Bikesmith
Feb 8th
As Boulder’s largest rental shop, the Bikesmith has a niche. Since they sell only used (vs. new) bikes, they don’t compete with Performance Bicycles, located in the same shopping center. Rather, their businesses complement one another. Often, a customer interested in purchasing a new bike from Performance will opt to ‘test ride’ the bike first, by renting it from the Bikesmith for a day or two. It also happens that the Bikesmith might buy someone’s used bike, essentially providing them with a down-payment towards a new bike purchase. At any rate, it’s satisfying to be a part of the recycling process and the Boulder Bikesmith is the first place to visit.

Swiss Chalet Timepieces – Tour Divide Launch Party for Jake Kirkpatrick
May 24th
Boulders Swiss Chalet Timepieces hosted a bon voyage party and silent auction in support of Jake Kirkpatrick on Jun 2 as he prepared to embark on the Tour Divide, an epic 2,745-mile ride down the spine of the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico that has been called the world’s toughest mountain bike race. Jake talks about his North America’s toughest mountain bike race aboard his award-winning Black Sheep bike with Gates Carbon Drive, navigating with the aid of a Tissot T Touch Expert. Kirkpatrick, a Boulder, Colo., professional single speed mountain bike racer will attempt to win this grueling race on his custom Black Sheep Bike equipped with the low-maintenance Gates Carbon Drive belt-drive system. He will use a T Touch Expert provided by Tissot and Swiss Chalet to aid in navigation, severe weather detection and early morning wake-ups.
