Boulder High winds and Fire Danger today. Small fire on Lee Hill #boulderfire

11/12/12:31 Lee Hill fire: Roughly 50 firefighters are on scene right now.
The fire in Fourmile is in the 3000 block of Fourmile. The fire was last estimated to be approximately 200 feet wide. Latest reports indicate figrefighters have contained the fire. Lee Hill and Old Stage are re open and evacs cancelled. Deertrail remains closed.

163 reverse 911 calls went out. Fire department is monitoring both fires but danger has been lifter. Lee Hill fire appears to be started by wind blowing branch on power lines. 1 structure, a garage was lost and and auto was burned.
Fire command center is at Lee Hill.

There are two fires in Boulder County. There is currently no threat to the City of Boulder.
First responders are on scene at both sites. The Emergency Operations Center is open and monitoring the situation, providing support as needed.
The fire at Lee Hill and Deer Trail is approximately 1-2 acres in size. An evacuation order has been issued for all residents in a one mile radius of the intersection of Deer Trail and Lee Hill. Roughly 50 firefighters are on scene right now.

High Wind Warning today.
A 1/2 acre fire has broken out at Deer Trail and Lee Hill Road. Many agencies are on scene. Wild land fire department are putting out hot spots according to Boulder county dispatch. Staff at OEM is starting to show up according to Mike Chard

Avoid these Boulder streets like the plague

City paving projects on Front Range Drive and Paseo Del Prado Street
From Monday, Nov. 14, through Friday, Nov. 18, crews will be working on Front Range Drive, the gravel road north of Lee Hill Drive and west of Broadway. Front Range Drive will be closed, north of Lee Hill Drive, for approximately 200 feet for pavement construction. The gravel road is used as a transit stop by SKIP buses, and RTD will be rerouting the SKIP transit route during this time.
Also during the week of Monday, Nov. 14, Paseo Del Prado Street, between Loma Place and Links Drive, will be closed for pavement resurfacing work.
These paving projects are part of the Transportation Department’s existing work plan for 2011.
All work is weather-permitting and subject to change.
Boulder helps fans get to CU game

Free parking and convenient transit options available for CU football fans
Fans attending the University of Colorado (CU) home football game on Saturday, Nov. 12, can park for free in city-owned and Twenty Ninth Street parking garages, as well as at specific RTD park-n-Ride locations. The city-owned parking garages are located downtown at:
- 10th Street and Walnut Street (St. Julien Hotel)
- 11th Street and Spruce Street
- 11th Street and Walnut Street
- 14th Street and Walnut Street (Boulder Transit Center)
- 15th Street and Pearl Street
With game day, CU main campus public-parking fees around $20 and more than 4,000 cars expected for the game, it makes sense to park downtown and use alternative transportation. (Please note: Free parking in city-owned garages is only available on Saturdays and Sundays.)
Alternative transportation options to and from the games include:
- HOP Bus: Fans can take the HOP to Folsom Field. The HOP arrives at stops every 15 to 20 minutes, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. After the game, passengers can board the HOP at 16th Street and Euclid Avenue or on Folsom Street, between Arapahoe Avenue and Canyon Boulevard. Once Colorado Avenue in front of the stadium re-opens, the HOP will resume its normal route through campus.
o Cost: $2.25 for a one-way fare. Riders must have exact change or another form of RTD payment, such as an Eco Pass.
- RTD Buff Shuttle: Fans can park at the Table Mesa park-n-Ride and take the RTD Buff Shuttle to Folsom Field. Shuttles begin departing 1 ½ hours before the game and operate every 10 to 20 minutes until kickoff. The shuttle returns to the Table Mesa park-n-Ride at the end of the game, with the last bus leaving 45 minutes after the game ends.
o Cost: $4.50 for a round-trip fare. Riders must have exact change. Passes, tickets, transfers and tokens are NOT accepted for this special service. Parking fees may apply.
- RTD BuffRide: Fans can park at designated park-n-Ride locations and take the RTD BuffRide to Folsom Field. These buses start departing from select park-n-Rides 2 ½ hours before the game and continue to run until 75 minutes before kickoff. The BuffRide returns to the park-n-Rides at the end of the game, with the last bus leaving 45 minutes after the game ends.
o Cost: $8 to $10 for a round-trip fare (depending on the park-n-Ride location). Riders must have exact change. Passes, tickets, transfers and tokens are NOT accepted for this special service. Parking fees may apply. View a map of the BuffRide route and park-n-Ride locations.
