CU b-ball holds double-header scrimmage on Saturday

The CU women’s basketball team will also have an open scrimmage from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Both scrimmages are free and open to the public.

Fans can come and watch the 2013-2014 men’s team as they prepare for another exciting basketball season. The season opener is four weeks away with a showdown against nationally ranked Baylor, Nov. 8 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The men’s home opener is Sunday, Nov. 10 against UT Martin at 4 p.m.
The CU women’s team is preparing for their 40th season which tips off with an exhibition game vs. Colorado School of Mines on Nov. 2, and their home opener vs. Alcorn St. on Nov. 15.
On Saturday, the campus parking lots will be set up for the football so there will be no free parking on campus. After attending the scrimmages, fans are encouraged to walk over to Folsom Field at the conclusion of the basketball scrimmage to watch the Buffs take on undefeated Charleston Southern at noon with tickets as low as $30.

Traffic reduced to two lanes on Broadway between College and Pleasant
Oct 11th
From 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday Oct. 10, through 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, southbound Broadway between College Avenue and Pleasant Street will be closed. During this time, traffic will be rerouted to northbound Broadway maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction.
Additional, related closures associated with this work include:
- Pennsylvania Avenue between 13th Street and Broadway;
- Eastbound Pleasant Street from 12th Street to Broadway (westbound remains open); and
- Turning movements from Broadway to College and from College onto Broadway will be prohibited.
This closure is necessary while crews work to repair a damaged wastewater collection line in the area.

County opens more trails

Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Parks and Open Space staff has determined that the following properties are safe and accessible and can open to the public at noon, Oct. 9:
· Mud Lake
· Reynolds Ranch
· Carolyn Holmberg Preserve – Mary Miller Trail to back of Stearns Lake only
· Castle Rock
Opening Thursday, Oct. 10 at sunrise:
· Betasso Preserve– All open except Fourmile entrance and Fourmile Link Trail
