Route 66 Travel Series
This is the story of journalist and talk show host Jann Scott traveling on historic Route 66. He has been documenting his travels since 1996, visiting with various road legends. This show is the most comprehensive in existence and is played on various public access stations around America. They are sometimes off beat and wacky, and other times serious. ROUTE 66 – Part 23 – Springfield, Illinois – Jann heads across route 80 to the Marriot in Omaha, Nebraska on his way to Springfield, Illinois. He takes us to the Cozy Dogs in the Audi he drove, and then to the 2002 Route 66 Convention at the Renaissance in Springfield. He talks with Martin Milner from the Route 66 TV show. Then Jann visits Bill Shea at Shea’s Gas Station where there’s tons of great mother road memorabilia in the museum. Michael Wallace tells us about some history of Route 66 in Springfield and his life on the road he wrote about in his Route 66 Mother Road book.

He went to virtually every city and town along rt66 and interviewed many of the road legends and regular people who still live along the Mother road. Some are gone now. Yet these interviews are historic. Sometimes whacky or serious Jann Scott is a professional broadcaster and Journalist. These are old videos and the quality can be tricky but the history is there.
