Historic Haunts Author at Ripley’s
Jamie Roush Pearce, author of Historic Haunts Florida, will be signing copies of her book beginning at 6 p.m. at Ripley’s Believe It or Not’s Castle Warden in St. Augustine. Roush features Castle Warden in her book, especially the story of the two female hotel guests who died in a fire there n 1944. Isaac Drenching Southeastern Louisiana, Dangerous Storm Surge and Flood Threat From Heavy Rains Likely to Continue Through Wednesday Night
At 10 AM CDT the center of Hurricane Isaac was near Houma, La. Isaac is moving toward the northwest at about 6 mph and this general motion is expected to continue through Wednesday night, followed by a turn toward the north-northwest by Thursday night or early Friday. The center of Isaac will move farther inland over Louisiana on Wednesday and Thursday and over southern Arkansas by early Friday.

Flagler College Forum series to kick off on Sept. 11

With this year’s closely watched election between Obama and Romney heating up, the Flagler College Forum on Government and Public Policy 
lecture series will bring key journalists covering the races to St. Augustine to discuss the campaign and the issues.

The 2012-2013 series will kick off on Sept. 11 with Mark Silva, Deputy Managing Editor of Bloomberg News who will speak on “Election 2012: Too Close to Call?”
Silva oversees a team of reporters and editors covering the White House, Congress and the 2012 election campaign, as well as other agencies.
All forums take place at Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada St., at 7 p.m. Forums are free and open to the public, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign language interpreters are provided.
