NOTICES TO THE PUBLIC
1. NO HOLIDAYS IN OCTOBER. City hall will be open, and the pickup schedule for garbage/trash will be normal on Monday, October 8 2012, which will be Columbus Day.
2. CIVIC ASSOCIATION. It will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission meeting room at city hall. The purpose of the meeting will be to inform the public of the proposed amendments to the Florida constitution that will be on the ballot for the November 6th general election.
3. MEET THE CANDIDATES NIGHT. It will be hosted by the Civic Association on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission meeting room at city hall. Featured will be candidates for various City and County offices.
4. COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD. It will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission meeting room. Topics on the agenda may include: a) review of Ordinance 12-09 to adopt new flood regulations; b) continuation of discussion to preserve historic structures in the City.
5. BOOK SALE. The Friends of the Library, St. Augustine Beach branch, will hold a book sale. The days and times will be: Thursday, October 18th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, October 19th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, October 20th, from 10 a.. to 5 pm. The branch library is located on the town square of the Sea Grove subdivision, which is west of state Road A1A At A Street.

St. Augustine City Commission holds budget workshop
Aug 19th
The workshop is an opportunity for the commissioners to review the proposed budget in an informal format. No votes are taken during a workshop and public comment is not scheduled, but public hearings on the budget are scheduled for September 6 and September 20, each starting at 5:05pm. Those public hearings will also be held in The Alcazar Room. The 2012-1013 budget goes into effect with the start of the fiscal year on October 1.
In preparation for the workshop, staff prepared a workbook for commissioners with a budget summary of each of the funds on which the city relies for operations. To view the workbook, click here.

NOTICES TO THE PUBLIC
1. MEET THE CANDIDATES NIGHT. It will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission meeting room at city hall. Candidates for local office will have an opportunity to present themselves and their platforms to the public. The St. Augustine Beach Civic Association is the sponsor. The City will televise this event.
2. EARLY VOTING. It will be held from August 4 to August 11, 2012 in the public meeting room at city hall. The hours will be: Saturday and weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, August 5th, the hours will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The date of the primary election is Tuesday, August 14, 2012. The polling site will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
3. COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD. It will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in the Commission meeting room. Topics on the agenda may include: a) review of overlay district regulations; b) discussion of definition of “head of household.”
4. CHANGES TO THE CITY’S GARBAGE/TRASH COLLECTION SCHEDULE. The holiday is Labor Day on Monday, September 3, 2012. It will change the garbage/trash collection schedule as follows: Monday’s pickup of household wastes will be done on Tuesday, September 4th. Tuesday’s pickup will be done on Tuesday. For the remainder of the week, there’ll be normal pickup of household waste, special wastes, and recyclables.
