Emergency culvert replacement to impact traffic on 63rd Street near Tom Watson Park on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2

Emergency replacement of a culvert between Tom Watson Park and Coot Lake will cause temporary lane closures and traffic delays along 63rd Street on Thursday, Sept. 1, and Friday, Sept. 2. Work will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Alternate routes are advised during construction.

What: Boulder County Cropland Policy Farm Tour
When: Tuesday, August 9, 5:15 p.m.
Registration Deadline: August 5, $5 per person, at http://agtours.eventbrite.com/
Where: Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont
The tour will depart from the Boulder County Fairgrounds north parking lot at 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont. Participants must arrive by 5:15 p.m. to check in. Buses will leave promptly at 5:30.
The Cropland Policy will outline the guiding principles that county staff will use to make management decisions on open space properties managed as cropland. Defining these principles will streamline decision-making processes during planning and clarify the goals of the cropland program for tenants and residents.
Tour participants will learn about agricultural production systems and the issues, challenges and opportunities particular to Boulder County open space lands. The tours highlight different farms, representing field and forage crops, vegetable crops and livestock.
Guests will travel in air-conditioned buses equipped with restrooms and an audio system. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Participants should bring a water bottle, wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. The tours are not recommended for children under 12. Participating farmers will be available to answer questions.

July is National Park and Recreation Month: Boulder has Yogi Bear

The City of Boulder’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of recreation opportunities in July during National Park and Recreation Month.
● Performances in the Parks: Join the Boulder Concert Band for free concerts at a variety of parks on Monday evenings throughout the summer. Concerts start at 7 p.m. and last one hour. Full schedule: www.BoulderParks-Rec.org.
● Valmont Bike Park: This 40-acre bike parkhas features for all ages and abilities, from children to professional riders. The park is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk every day. For more information, visit www.ValmontBikePark.org.
● Family nights at Scott Carpenter Pool: Bring your family for a scavenger hunt and trivia night, cardboard boat race, and more from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Friday night in July at Scott Carpenter Pool. More information: www.BoulderParks-Rec.org.
● Super twilight golf specials at Flatirons Golf Course: Play as much golf as you can from 7 p.m. to sunset with a cart for $20 per person if you book your tee time online at www.FlatironsGolf.com.
● Clean Marina flag raising ceremony: Celebrate the Boulder Reservoir becoming the first certified Clean Marina in Colorado with a flag raising ceremony at noon on Saturday, July 16, at the Boulder Reservoir Boathouse. More information:www.BoulderRez.org.
