All the President’s Men Film Screening
Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman star as the two journalists from the Washington Post investigating the Watergate scandal in this 1976 Academy Award winning film. 
Keeping with the movie’s political theme, St. John’s County Board of Elections will be on-site at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A North, to assist residents with voter registration. GTM Research Reserve 2nd Saturday Trail Hike

Kingfish Challenge
Friday is the Junior Kingfish Challenge, Tournament Registration and the Captain’s Meeting. The main Kingfish Challenge and Backwater Challenge take place on Saturday and Sunday. Susan Strock Art Exhibit
See a new exhibit of paintings by Suzanne Strock at the Gallery of the Dow Museum of Historic Houses in St. Augustine. A student of the masters, Suzanne’s work frequently captures natural light interacting with man made structures. Admission to the Gallery is free. The Gallery and Museum are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Admission to the wonderful collection of vintage houses, including one once occupied by Napoleon Bonaparte’s nephew, is $8.95 for adults; $7.95 for seniors and $6.95 for students. Admission is free for children under 6. On the first Monday of each month, admission to the museum is free for St. Johns County residents. The Dow Museum of Historic Houses is located at 140 Cordova Street.

The daily tours and wine tastings at the San Sebastian Winery are free to everyone. Also, admission is free to everyone at the Authentic Old Drug Store, Fort Matanzas National Monument, Government House Museum, St. Photios Chapel, the Pena-Peck House, the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum and the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum (donations are welcomed).
NEW: St. Johns County residents who purchase full-price admisssion to the St. Augustine Lighthouse ($9.50 adults; $7.50 seniors and children 12 and under; free for children under 44 inches in height) can now receive a pass good for free admission for an entire year! The Lighthouse is now open until 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.. “Moonrise Kingdom” a Weird Piece of Crap

“Weird Piece of Crap”
“Hotshots” looks at a movie!
Moonrise Kingdom is the latest film from acclaimed writer and director Wes Anderson, and if you thought his previous films were weird and offbeat, get ready for this one.
To say that the films of Anderson are an acquired taste would be an overstatement. Each of his films is an acquired taste, and this latest one left a bad taste in my mouth.
The cast doesn’t lack for fame and talent, and it includes Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Harvey Keitel, but all of them play supporting roles in the story, which is about two 12-year-old misfits who fall in love and decide to run away together.
Now, if you think that is quirky, even the location of the story is quirky. It takes place in 1965 on an island off the coast of New England.
We learn that a year earlier Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop had met when she was appearing in a pageant and he went backstage where Suzy was in makeup and asked her, “What bird are you?”
They took a liking to each other, apparently because they were both troubled kids without any friends, and they became pen pals, writing to each other regularly for the past year and making plans to escape together.
Now, remember that they are both 12 years old and living on a small island, and so you can see some ready-made flaws in their plan, right?
Anyway, they meet on schedule and take off to a small cove where they plan to hide out. The adults discover that the kids are missing, and so they start searching for them.
There is also a storm coming that is going to turn into a hurricane.
We see many scenes of Sam and Suzy swimming and dancing around in their underwear that are uncomfortable to watch, especially when Sam paints a picture of Suzy lying down that is a direct copy of the painting scene in the 1997 Titantic, except for their ages and their underwear.
Also, everyone–including the adults–acts deadly serious, which must have been the director’s choice for comic effect, but it just comes across as stupid.
And just when you think it couldn’t get any weirder, it does.
Moonrise Kingdom is just a piece of weird, stupid crap.

Chernobyl Diaries is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, Paranormal Activity. The film follows a group of six young vacationers who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme” tour guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone…
