The Flower Bin – Giant Pumpkin Contest 2013

We attend the Flower Bins’ Annual Giant Pumpkin Contest and talk with Don Weakland to learn a little about the rules and contestants that grow these giant pumpkins. Some of the pumpkins reach almost 1000 pounds and there’s also special awards for children growers, largest watermelon and longest gourds, all to highlight the exciting fall and Halloween season here at the Flower Bin in Longmont.
The Flower Bin – Back to Cool Sale 2013

We go back to The Flower Bin to learn about their annual Back to Cool Sale coming up this Labor Day Weekend Friday – Monday, August 30 – September 2 2013. Don Weakland shows us some of the great things you can get at the sale including annuals, mixed pots, hanging baskets, Perennials, Water Plants, Nursery Stock, Herbs, Foliage, Cacti and a selection of Fountains, Bird feeders and Stone Statues.
Boulder County Farmers Market

A nonprofit that operates through producer-only farmers and ranchers that grow what they sell in Boulder since 1987. Today the Boulder Farmers market serves as community gathering, provides nourishment to neighbors, boost sustainable agriculture and support for the local economy. The market season runs from the first Saturday in April through the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving every year as well as the first Wednesday in May through the first Wednesday in October.
