Worst Intersection in Boulder

The intersection at 28th and Jay road has has horrific crashes all summer long, yet the city will not put in left turn signals headed north. Why not? their traffic engineer said there is no need. No Need! what is wrong with him?
I have talked to the city and about this intersection over and over. I even shot videos of the crashes.
Short of telling him he is an idiot, I thought i would tell you again.
This is one of the worst intersections in the city and I nearly get killed here every day…
A slower speed limit would help .. Cars and trucks blast through there at 45 mph. Speed limit to be 30. There need to be turn arrows all around.
I did this video 3 years ago.

Crosswalk Safeway 28th street poorly lit

The crosswalk in front of Safeway on 28th Street at Rite Aid Drugs is still poorly lit at night.

There are six Lanes but only a street light on either side of the crosswalk. The two yellow flashing lights are so bright that they blind you and you can’t tell if someone is in the crosswalk.
The city needs to put a light in the center Island to light up the crosswalk. This is why people get hit at least at night. You can’t see anyone there.

This is the worst crosswalk in the city and I have written about it to you over the past four years

Actually all the crosswalks in Boulder are poorly lit.

How to mitigate traffic in Boulder: simple plan

1 Lower the speed limit in the city 20 miles an hour.

2. Eliminate all petroleum burning automobiles from the city center with the exception of commercial and emergency vehicles.

3 Allow golf carts

4. Create a barrier in the core City that does not allow Petro burning vehicles.

5.Create size limitations on any vehicles in the downtown area.

6. Build a massive off-road multi-path Lane use up and down Broadway And Canyon.

7. Annual parking permits all vehicles parked in the downtown area of 1000 to $1,500 a month
