You are starting to see more Ford Escape Hybrids abound Boulder County now because they are available and can be purchased same day or with a very short wait at your dealership. Boulder is a hyper EV and hybrid conscious community and we want anything that smacks of electric now.
The Ford Escape Electric Hybrid was one of the first small SUVs to come out back in the early 2000s. I owned a 2006 Escape hybrid during the last gasoline crisis. Then congressman Polis bought one of the first 2005 Escape hybrids and drove it for years. The early models would run electric for 20 miles at less than 30 mph and got overall 30mpg or 420 miles per tank.
The new redesigned 2020 to 2022 Escape Hybrid gets 44/37 mpg. The hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with an electric motor and battery; total system output amounts to 200 hp. Zero to 60 in 8.7 seconds. Not bad.
It earns a 5 star NHTSA safety rating which is excellent. It has the most front leg room in its class. I like the non plug-in version for around town , but the plug-in for commutes to Denver . The plug-in, adds a larger 14.4-kWh battery pack and delivers 221 hp. It is also capable of up to 37 miles of electric range, and 105 mpg-e combined driving on gas and electricity or 520 miles on one tank of gas. That’s driving from here to SanteFe for the weekend with fuel to spare.
Prices Range from $31,000 to $41,000 depending on trim levels, powertrains, plugin and dealer markup. I was able to purchase one without much trouble.
Boulder Juneteen celebration mostly attended by white woman

That’s because Boulder has an African American population is approximately 1.o5%. That is just about the lowest in any city in Colorado and one of the lowest in the United States. It is higher in numbers when the students are here.
Boulder has decided to make Juneteenth an official city holiday .
Not exactly white women for Junenteenth.. More like KK women , but they are white and they are protesting
But who is likely to attend? White Women. Ever go to a Boulder Black Lives Matter rally? It is all white women. Trevor Noah pointed that out last week. But still Juneteenth in Boulder? Really ? Will be about as popular as Kwanzaa at Christmas time
I covered Juneteenth in Denver where there is a Black Community and it was an event. There were tents, food, a stage, bands preaching all sorts of cultural plays. but that’s denver. Boulder ? Boulder does not have a black community to speak of,.

The Gun Crazies will come after Boulder Again

Boulder city Council passed 6 gun control measures last night which is good, but I am concerned still.
Next the council must insure there is police protection in our schools. we need SROs back in all schools. School Resource Officers….. There is too much chatter on the gun forums about shooting up more schools. Boulder has a target on its back . The gun people will come back after us the way they did during the last assault weapons ban. The held 3 armed protests then and it is a wonder no one was shot . The police were out gunned .
Then Alissa came with an assault weapon and armor and killed ten of us. They wont stop. They will be back to kill more of us. The Boulder police needs to be ready and proactive.
Correction: The Mayor wrote to me and said “a majority of council actually voted in favor of working with the FBI on the Joint Terrorism Task Force. The MOU with the FBI was finalized recently. ” So my First impression was not accurate but some of the council members appeared to give the chief of police a hard time over the FBI. Have no doubt. We need the FBI and the ATF too now in order to make Boulder safe from shooters.
